Michael
started playing hockey at the age of 18 and played for the
Warriors club where he was one of their top players winning
numerous club MVP's and highest point scorer awards including the
Victorian Inline Hockey Association (VILHA) Presidents trophy.
Michael
was drafted by the Snipers in the first ever PHL draft in 1999.
He
is one of only two players to play in every Sniper game since the
team started.
Michael
played in his first interstate tournament at the tropical
challenge in Coolangatta Queensland in 1994 and has played for
Victoria at that tournament every year but one since & was
made captain of the side in 2000 .
In 2000 Flaherty
also played at the Australian Inline Hockey Championships for
first time having a great tournament.
